MB92 Barcelona, part of the MB92 Group, today announced the recent addition of the ISO 50001 certificate for energy management by the Lloyd’s Register to complement the ISO 9001 and 14001 already in place. In achieving this, MB92 Barcelona are demonstrating their ongoing commitment to improving energy efficiency and reducing their impact on the environment.
The certificate represents the culmination of months of hard work and significant investment, with the following examples of energy efficiency improvements made in the MB92 Barcelona facilities as part of the new management system:
In addition to the hardware, MB92 Barcelona have developed and implemented a number of internal operational changes that have had considerable impact:
Natalia Varela, Lloyd’s Register Service Delivery Manager for Spain, Portugal and Cuba delivered the certificate to Miquel Àngel Lliteras, MB92 Barcelona Shipyard Manager, who stated that: “As with all the other ISO Certificates established in MB92 Barcelona, this new certification is the result of great team work and a commitment to continually improve in the search for excellence. We have taken great strides forward in how we approach current environmental challenges and by improving the way in which we operate in the shipyard to gain greater efficiency, we will also be able to pass these benefits on to our clients.”
The application of this new energy management system is to be extended to all facilities within the MB92 Group, with certification to be received soon in MB92 La Ciotat.
