From yacht builder to leading refit shipyard
With humble refit origins on a 30m sailing yacht the journey over nearly 20 years has been a constant evolution of how to best marry technical excellence with the ultimate flexibility required to ensure the most successful refits.
Co-founders Ben Mennem and Mark Salman start a company called Custom Tenders where, over a period of six years, they build around 80 tenders for some of the most iconic superyachts of the day.

A shift in focus
Compositeworks dedicates itself fully to superyacht refit with facilities tailored towards servicing larger yachts and the last composite new build is completed in 2010.
Trust and recognition
As well as having built trusted relationships with clients regularly returning, the shipyard receives international recognition with superyacht awards for refit work on a host of projects.
The company creates partnerships with other sizeable facilities capable of catering for 100-metre plus yachts, in the Mediterranean and began working with the Atlantic refit Centre in the large dry dock in the port of La Rochelle.
