A look back at the Ministerial visit to La Ciotat

Last week, we had the honour of welcoming the Minister for the Sea and Fisheries, Madame Catherine Chabaud. This visit, organised by La Ciotat Shipyards, provided an on-site overview of the shipyard, included the famous gantry crane.
On this occasion, MB92 La Ciotat had the opportunity to present its expertise, know-how and long-term commitment to responsible maritime development, at the core of the local industrial ecosystem.
Welcoming a figure of this level is far from symbolic. It highlights the strategic importance of our area for the French maritime economy and for sustainable innovation within the yacht refit sector.
Alongside the Minister, Bruno Ricard, HSE Director at MB92 La Ciotat, acted as a spokesperson for our commitment to a more environmentally responsible industry and refit. His contribution underlined our approach to safety, performance and sustainability as inseparable drivers of our growth.
A Visit with Purpose
This visit was a true immersion into our vision: an industrial model that not only delivers performance, but also anticipates the future.
Under the Minister’s attentive eye, discussions focused on:
The role of refit as a sustainable lever for the maritime industry
Energy transition and carbon footprint reduction
Concrete local initiatives aimed at preserving marine biodiversity

Refit for the Future: Our Sustainable Roadmap
At MB92, sustainability is not just an ambition, it is a commitment translated into action. Through our Refit for the Future programme, we support our clients with concrete solutions to reduce the environmental impact of their yachts, whether through energy optimisation, hybrid systems, or cleaner alternatives to traditional antifouling solutions.
This programme reflects our philosophy: turning refit into a driver of sustainability, without compromising performance or safety.

A Meaningful Moment, for Today and Tomorrow
This ministerial visit was far more than a formal event. It symbolises the recognition of an entire industry in transformation and serves as encouragement to move faster and further towards a maritime industry that protects what it values most: the sea.
Our thanks go to Madame the Minister for the Sea and Fisheries, Bruno Ricard, LCS, and to everyone working every day to ensure that sustainability goes hand in hand with excellence.
